08/14/1999 – 08/15/1999 - How many techs does it take to fix a cable modem connection? The world may never know.
(this should be in Friday’s update, but I don’t care) Friday night I got an e-mail from a reporter from the Capitol Times who got my name from the Cable Regulatory Coordinator. He was thinking about getting the service and stumbled on to my web page and decided he would like to do a story about it. He is supposed to get a hold of Monday and then have the article in Friday’s paper. It’s not television or PC World, but it’s a great start! I am hoping to speak to David Snodgrass before I talk to the Cap Times just so I can report to them if he’s as incompetent as everyone says he is.
The emergency T1’s were installed this weekend. Whoopie! I didn’t notice a thing. I snagged a directory of CDROM.COM (unsure of the size) and started downloading Saturday afternoon. It’s Sunday night and that download is still going at a whopping 3.13k/sec. And that’s only when the modem activity lights flash. We’ll see how things go tomorrow.
