Cable Modem Rant Hey, I realize it's been awhile since you posted this, but someone mentioned it on a BBS I visit daily (http://www.3dnow.net) While I don't have any first hand experiances to share, I think you were 100% right, and thank god someone stood up to your cable/internet company. I've been interested in getting broadband access, and all that is availible in my area (northern illinois) is ADSL. I just hope I don't run into the problems that you do. I think what you did was great, thank you. Broadband Internet access has it's perks. It has it's downfalls too. ADSL is nice since you are not on a shared network. As far as standing up to a cable company or ISP, it's no big deal. It's what anyone would do. If you go to Walmart to return an unopened product and they refuse to give you you're money back, what do you do? Let it be and leave or cause a giant stink? I don't know if it's me, but I have noticed a huge degradation in customer support since this whole thing happened. From the phone co. to banks, to retail stores etc. I post em as I get em, so let your thoughts loose! e-mail |
